So, just what does it take to get a litter on the ground and raise them.

For my Great Pyrenees I use the same kind of whelping box that is 1.60 m x 1.40 m

Berger what we realized is that with the horse trailer mats on the floor there was no need to build a bottom like there was in my original whelping box. Man that thing is heavy to move. But this, without the floor is light and easy to move. I line it with newspapers and clean old sheets and towels and rags from the local thrift store. It worked wonderfully for this last litter of pups Elmas had. We have another one in the other kennel house too that's ready to be used.

I am going to earmark this definitely a do-able deal. Also the temp hog panel enclosure great idea.

The bitches stay stay between 10 and 15 days in the whelping box after that they go in the pen with their puppies near the herd.
