Howdy from a SE Alaskan Island

Postby tuscarora77 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 1:48 pm

I moved to SE Alaska from mid Missouri earlier this year. I used to raise meat goats & had a wonderful LGD "Elway", an Anatolian/Komodor/Akbash cross whom I miss dearly. My ex (whom we are still friends & talk often) still has him & the 80 acre farm along with the horses, aussies, & guineas. He is going to get some more goats over winter, which is wonderful as Elway needs a job to do. He has an interesting story I can tell if anyone wants to hear it, he has a great background!
I joined this site to keep in touch with what I miss, the goats, ranching, livestock, & those great dogs! Planning to get back in again someday, might be in a couple years but I will be there again. I'd love to have one of Elway's kids1
I was raised in Idaho & in the horse business for 30+ yrs before moving north. The horse business got too depressing & I lost sight of the whole reason I had horses, so was time for a life change for awhile.
Now I look out over the ocean (parts of it thru the islands) from my dining room window, do alot of fishing for salmon & halibut, eat fresh shrimp & crab every month....can't complain!
Thanks for letting me babble! I'm looking forward to reading the posts on here.....

Hello and welcome! Elway is an interesting mix of LGDs. I don't have a LGD (yet). I have enjoyed reading here and I'm sure you will too.
